It was lovely to welcome so many new faces, as well as lots of familiar ones, this evening at South Bristol Gardening Club. Our guest speaker, Don Everitt, wowed us with his in-depth knowledge of planting herbacious borders built up over his long career in horticulture, and brought along an interesting selection of hardy perennial plants and bulbs for us to buy and take home for our own gardens. Finishing off with lovely cakes, tea and coffee, we had a super evening, heading off home inspired to get planting for the season ahead. What a fantastic start to the gardening year. Thanks everyone for making the effort to come along on such a wet and windy evening!

Our March meeting is fast approaching in just over a week, on Tuesday 5th March. We are very pleased to welcome back an old friend of the club, Don Everitt, who will be sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for hardy perennials. Don has spoken to us on several occasions, and he always delivers an interesting talk. He will be bringing along some plants for sale during the evening, so do bring along some money in case you are tempted. If anyone still needs to pay their membership renewal fee, you will be able to do so on 5th March. New members are always welcome. Come along and do a trial session for £3.50, or join for the year for just £25. Meanwhile, we hope you are making the most of the amazing mild and sunny February weather, and getting out into you gardens. Until 5th March!
