Priors Wood Bluebell Walk – Saturday 23 April

Our proposed date for visiting Prior’s Wood is Saturday 23rd April, 2pm.  Of course, this is not an exact science and if we are unfortunate to have a cold snap, my proposed reserve date is Saturday 30th April.  Please note there is an incline involved and some of the terrain is a little rough.  There is no need to book, just turn up; please make your own way there, but if you need a lift, let us know and we’ll do our best to put you in touch with someone who can give you a lift.  Please meet outside 17 Caswell Lane.

To get to Prior’s Wood, don’t follow Google Maps!

  • Instead, take the A369 out of Bristol and past Pill.
  • Just before the junction with the M5, take the left turn to Portbury village.
  • Once in the village, the road curves sharply to the left; instead of following the road round, turn right (in reality this amounts to straight on) on to High Street.
  • After a few hundred yards, the road curves round to the right (and becomes Station Road), but at this curve, there is a left turn called Caswell Lane.  Remember this.
  • Follow Station Road and park here; there is on-street parking and a pub called The Priory.
  • Walk back to Caswell Lane
