First of all we would like to give a mention to all the new members who joined us at our recent meeting: Sarah, Hilary, Gilly, Jo and Dawn. Welcome to all, and hope that you enjoyed the talk by Don Everitt.
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 2nd April, when we can look forward to a presentation by Dominic Hamilton on the Rococo ideas developed in the 1700s, while illustrating Painswick Rococo Garden in Gloucestershire.
Not only will we be learning about these fantastic gardens, but we will have the opportunity to visit them as part of our summer coach trip on 21st July, as well as a visit to a second nearby garden, Brockworth Court Gardens. More details to follow about the trip, but we can tell you that the cost will be £20 for members and £25 for guests and non-members. This includes the cost of the coach journey and entrance fees to both gardens. Priority booking will be given to members until 7th May, and you can book your place at the next meeting on 2nd April. Payment in full is required to secure your place, so please come prepared with either cash or a cheque. Members’ tickets will likely be further discounted and refunds made according to how much money is made on the plant sale, but cannot be confirmed until after the 19th May. From 8th May tickets will be made available to non-members who can put their names on a sign-up sheet in advance.
In order to make the plant sale a success we need lots of plants to sell and lots of helping hands on the day. At our meeting next week there will be a sign-up sheet. If you can spare a couple of hours on Saturday 18th May between 4-6 pm for pricing up, or any time on Sunday 19th May between 8 am and 3 pm. Even just an hour or two would be helpful. Come along and have some fun. It is an enjoyable day! If anyone has any surplus plant pots of any size, please bring them along to the next meeting for redistribution to members who may be running short for all the plants they are bringing on for the plant.
See you all on Tuesday 2nd April
